In the world of televisions, frame TVs, or art TVs, are pretty unique. They come with sharp resolution, thin bezels, and a luxurious matte surface, so when they’re not being used as a standard TV, they show your favourite art and photography in all its glory. With a monthly subscription, or linked to your own art and photos, they cycle through the best art in the world, as soon as you step into the room.

And there’s not a lot to pick from, as so far only a handful of brands have ventured into this market. We’ve restricted our list to just four, because we consider these to be the only ones that really qualify as ‘art TVs’ – the best being the Frame TV from Samsung. Technically you could use any flatscreen TV to display art, but that’s not what we want here – my list only includes purpose-built sets.
